Transition Space @ Tralee Food Festival – 23rd September 2017
September 23, 2017
FreeTransition Kerry will have our Transition Space at Tralee Food Festival on Saturday 23rd September in Tralee Town Square.
We are looking for volunteers to help on the day – with the usual putting up tents and setting up, chatting to people during the day and taking it all down again. We will be looking for help from 9am to 6pm, so if you can give even an hour, it would be greatly appreciated!
We will have a space for local community groups and small local sustainable businesses to display their work. This will include the brilliant Community Apple Juicer from Tralee Allotments Project, juicing local apples that would otherwise go to waste. We will also be inviting the local community garden projects to show off their work and produce.
Kerry Sustainable Energy Co-op will also be there, promoting community owned and led projects and initiative such as the bulk buying of locally sourced wood for fuel.
This is a day to celebrate all the local food and good work that is being done in local communities to make positive changes, making their communities more sustainable and resilient. This event is also part of ECOLISE – European Community Led Initiative for Climate Change and Sustainability. It is also part of the national Convergence Festival, being organised by Cultivate.
